What is a pest?
A pest is considered any organism harmful to human health. Pests cause damage, contaminate food, spread fear and disease, while posing significant public health risks.
Rodents, insects, cockroaches, bedbugs, wasps, fleas, moths... They can all cause havoc and upheaval to our lives in our homes, places of work, shared spaces and businesses.
Pest control, or management, is the process of controlling, preventing and managing these pests to minimize risk to human health and the environment.
It is necessary to protect property and assets, assist in economic security, ensure food safety as necessary under The Food Safety Act 1990 and the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006 and for public health protection. Business are required to protect from pests under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 with severe penalties for failure to comply.
Rat King Pest Control uses IPM (Integrated Pest Management) which combines methods to control pests, focusing on ethical practices and the reduction of reliance on chemical pesticides.
We strive to educate, encouraging good, effective hygiene and sanitation as preventative measures and thoroughly surveying for and sealing entry points. Pesticides are used sparingly and precisely as a last option.
